CEO of The Environmental Health Center Dallas, Texas, Dr. Rea is one of the few medical doctors in the U.S. that knows how to reduce the risk of being exposed and what to do once experiencing signs of exposure from the toxins in the Gulf.

College loans defaulting at unprecedented numbers

(LATimes) Critics say that the entire business model, especially in the case of publicly traded companies, is premised on a college's ability to churn through many thousands of students, whose federal Pell grants of up to $5,550 and Stafford loans are paid to the school, with no accountability for student learning or graduation. For more than 50 years, the federal government has provided students with grants and loans to help pay for college, the LA Times reports.

At many of the major for-profits, federal dollars now account for more than 80% of their revenue, according to a Department of Education report.

Yes, it is an investment for careers that require it, because you won't even get in the door without that paperwork. Especially in New York City were everything is like living in an episode of Frasier, its a nightmare. There is a lot of brown nosing and looking down on people that didn't go to Columbia or NYU, how horrible. But, many of these people can barely pay their rent because their credit is maxed out. In New York CIty and doesn't matter what borough nor does it matter how the area looks you will pay on average $1,500 every thirty days plus utilities.

Doctors, No one is going to let you operate on someone without going the systems.
Lawyers, No one will hire you in any law firm and allow you to represent clients without a law license.
Teachers, No one will allow you to work in any public school system without going through it yourself (teaching license)

All are just small examples, but you get the point. The article goes on - an ongoing investigation by the Senate Committee on Health, Education,
Labor and Pensions (HELP) has raised serious questions about whether
students — and taxpayers — are getting good value for the surge of
federal dollars flowing to for-profit colleges.

The word "FOR PROFIT" should be a red flag it means in a nut shell that these schools have one goal and that is to make money, they are not concerned weather you like you education, weather you thought it was valuable, when you take out a loan to go to school there is a questionnaire that tells you that you are still responsible for the loan regardless of you experience at the school. So, if a teacher decides to talk about is kids lemonade stand for 45mins so be it.

Bankruptcy is not an option as you know or should know it is not on the list of loans that can be remedied in this way - and many are deferring their loans in order to prolong the loan they got before. All in all their just putting themselves in deeper debt. Taking on more loans to delay the first loan. Now that the government has control of these loans what will be their remedy if any.
Bizarre discovery at ground zero

Workers excavating at the World Trade Center site have made an
extraordinary discovery: a 32-foot-long hull of a ship believed to have
been buried in the 18th century. Workers also found a 100-pound anchor in the same area, but they're not
sure if it belongs to the ship. The last time a major archeological find
was made along the waterfront was in 1982, when an 18th-century cargo
ship was discovered under 175 Water St.

Archeologists say the ship likely was a part of a large batch of debris
used to fill in land to extend lower Manhattan into the Hudson River. It
was uncovered Tuesday morning reported by the Daily News.

This discovery is very interesting, considering there was much more hidden under the WTC.
Job creation happening in Canada, U.S. trails behind

The article in reference:
Huffington Post by Ryan McCarthy entitled: Need a job? Canada, Where Hiring is Booming And Prices Are Rising.

Last month, Canada, a nation with roughly one tenth of our
population, created about 10,000 more new jobs than America.

Yes, Canada's economic recovery is outpacing our own. In terms of
sheer job creation, June saw Canada create jobs at a pace that was five times the rate
predicted by economists, Bloomberg News reports. Canada added 93,200
jobs in June, while U.S. private employers added just 83,000. The numbers are pretty close, but if that's true were exactly are these added 83,000 jobs?

Thanks to strong hiring in the service sector, Canada's unemployment rate fell to 7.9 from 8.1
percent, while America's unemployment rate came in at 9.5 percent
in June, falling only because of a large exodus of Americans looking
for work. All told, the U.S. lost 125,000 jobs in June because of a wave
of Census layoffs.

My commentary on this:

Why do they included the Census work as if it was permanent employment, and yet there still talking about these jobs as if they were a part of the labor force.. Stubbornly high unemployment rates got you down? Not sold on the
economic recovery? Your not alone. As the numbers get worse the numbers of just how many people are unemployed is unknown, why? because there are more and more people who just stopped looking and they don't get counted. so, it makes the numbers appear as though unemployment is going down, but we all know better. Unemployment extensions didn't come though for so many hurting and I mean hurting out there. Many people don't know what to do with themselves when they don't have a job, not to mention that fact that some people identify themselves through there jobs, (self identity by means of employment) that is especially harsh, so it seems that Canada is doing something right and America as much as I love ya, we need to take notice. If we don't the American dream will be just that, nothing more then a dream.

The decision, Cavs owner rips LeBron's 'betrayal'

Cleveland
Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert posted this letter on Cavs.com after LeBron
James decided he was leaving for the Miami Heat.

[Beware it's brutal.....]

Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters
Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that
he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional
build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike
anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the
history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the
hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown
Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past
and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks,
we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA
CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE"

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware
to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness
and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to
previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get
there.

Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.

This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends
the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn.
And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.

<embed allowfullscreen="true" base="http://images.video.msn.com/flash/soapbox1_1.swf" wmode="transparent" flashvars="ifs=true&playlistmin=2&skin=0&ap=false&mkt=en-us&hideOptions=false&hideEmail=false&hideInfo=false&hideLink=false&msnlink=false&fr=IV2_en-us_foxsports_articles&title=true&ad=true&adFull=web&adPartial=partial&timePlaying=120&linkback=http://msn.foxsports.com/video&linkoverride=http://msn.foxsports.com/video?vid=&rvt=Most

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only
serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.

The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him
down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and
the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and
bad karma.

	Just watch.

	Sleep well, Cleveland.

Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....

I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience
will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long
overdue....

	Dan Gilbert
Majority Owner
Cleveland Cavaliers

You damned if you do your damned if you don't. I'm thinking that the move to Miami wasn't such a good move, I'm thinking maybe he should have made the cavaliers a stronger team by getting new players added Cavaliers roster, that would have made more sense, but call it what it is Lebron is looking for a championship.

Surely my outfit was not appropriate for the outside world, what is a girl to wear that is respectable yet keeps me cool, I guess drinking coffee at 5am doesn't help, coffee is like alcohol for some.

Temperatures could
reach as high as 102 degrees on Tuesday, meteorologists said, and Wednesday was
forecast to be the most humid
day of the stretch. With the masses returning to work Tuesday (myself included) amid the possible record-setting
heat across the Northeast threatened to push utilities usage to the breaking point.

Consolidated Edison utility in New York was preparing for peak usage to
break the record set on Aug. 2, 2006, said spokesman Bob McGee.

Walkers and drivers all seemed to be moving a little more slowly in the
heat, which combined high humidity with clear sunny skies that made
sidewalks hot and asphalt
sticky. You don't want to know what the subway smells like. After all these years the air conditioners in the subway while waiting for the train is disgusting, always has always will.

God help us.....
The current 44-cent first-class rate took effect May 11, 2009. The agency lost $3.8 billion last fiscal year despite cutting 40,000
full-time positions and making other reductions. It has continued to
face significant losses this year.

However, the agency is allowed to seek a larger increase in unusual
circumstances. Under the law, the post office is generally limited to increases no more
than the rate of inflation – 0.9 percent for the year ended in May. While that change will be the most visible, rates for other types of
mail will also go up, raising worry among business groups and
nonprofit organizations that do business in bulk.

The boost comes as no surprise. Postmaster General John Potter said
back in March that a rate increase would be necessary for the agency, which
does not receive tax funds for its operations.

Who Cares

Just having a conversation with some friends, One person who lives in California said, "I don't care. BP has cheap gas, and I'm not going to let it affect my family or my lifestyle. I will still get my gas where it's cheap and close to my house." That same person went on to say, "I get my seafood from Thailand."

This is the basic attitude I have encountered. The only people who care at all are those in the immediate surrounding areas, the people who have oil washing up on their shores - others couldn't care less.

A New Yorker said, "So what? Katrina was a disaster, too, but people got through THAT."

No amount of reasoning, facts, or information has seemed to make a difference. People might die? So what?

I thought most people cared, but as it turns out, they don't.
Now I understand why our government doesn't care. If the people don't care, why would they? I was totally disenchanted by the evening, I was truly longing at that point to be back home to the south. Although, when your in the south no one cares what goes on in the city especially a city like New York, it is strange to observe such a disconnect on an event that can and my effect all of us in some capacity if all these worse case scenarios are true.
In case you hadn't heard, Zagat has released the results of its 2010/11 New York City Nightlife Survey, and you're
not going to believe this, but, well, they're pretty much completely
what one would expect.

First off: The best night to go out is Thursday, followed by ...
Saturday! and most people take cabs on the way home!
(you can't have fun without safety, it goes hand and hand.)

The majority of us head out at around 9 or 10 p.m., and return home
at 2 a.m., or maybe midnight if we're feeling tired. ( I on the other hand begin my night at or around 1:30a.m especially if you work long hours and need to shower and unwind first.)

We split our
post-bar proclivities between late-night feeding to stave off the next
day's hangover and going straight to bed (depending on who we're with).
We drink wine or beer on the weekdays and something stronger on Friday
and Saturday night. And we're all going out just a little bit less due
to this sickening recession.

Best Nightlife Neighborhoods!

Meatpacking district

Lower East Side

East Village

The funny thing is 36 percent of us seem to think Midtown is making a comeback, I on the other hand feel that the West Side has a much better vibe.
